TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Singapore-based airline Calypte Holding Pte Ltd through its subsidiary, PT Indonesia Airlines Group (INA), officially obtained its flight permit last Friday, March 7, 2025. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of INA and Executive Chair of Calypte Holding, Iskandar, said that INA is the first commercial airline in Indonesia that will only operate international flights.

Calypte Holding is a renewable energy and agriculture development company. After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a 1,000 MW Solar Power Plant (PLTS) and a 500 MW Gas Power Plant (CCGT) worth Rp 19 trillion on Bengkalis Island, Pekanbaru, Riau on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, the company has now ventured into the aviation sector.

Regarding the top executives at Indonesia Airlines, Iskandar said that the position of the operational director will be filled by staff from Singapore Airlines with over 40 years of experience, who was one of the first pilots in the world to fly the Airbus A380. Furthermore, the commercial director will be held by an experienced figure who has worked for more than 21 years in various major airlines such as Emirates and Asiana Airlines.
Also, Iskandar mentioned that they will recruit a cabin crew manager from British Airways who is also part of the European Cabin Crew Corporate Committee (EBAA) and a deputy cabin crew manager from Emirates. This is done to provide the best service in line with the company's vision and mission.

He started his career as the Manager of the Program Integration and Supervision Center, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency for Aceh and Nias (BRR NAD-Nias) from July 2006 to 2008.
