LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The man accused of abducting a pregnant Beaver Dam teen and taking her across state lines now faces charges in a federal court in Arkansas.
Gary Day, 40, is charged in the Eastern District of Arkansas with enticement to travel to engage in criminal sexual activity, enticement by use of a computer to engage in criminal sexual activity, transportation of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, traveling with intent to engage in unlawful sex with a minor, production of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Day also faces state-level felony charges in Wisconsin and Nebraska. He is accused of taking teenager Sophia Franklin from her Beaver Dam home on Feb. 2. Franklin is pregnant and Day is believed to be the father of her unborn child.
Day is from Arkansas and is believed to have taken Franklin there, as well as to areas as far west as Oregon. The two were ultimately found in Nebraska.
Online court records show Day is scheduled to appear in a courtroom in Little Rock, Ark. on May 27 for an arraignment. An arraignment hearing for his case in Wisconsin is set for June 3.
