INDIANAPOLIS. (WILX) - Top-seeded Michigan State men’s basketball started its Big Ten Tournament run on Friday afternoon with a 74-64 victory over eight-seeded Oregon in the quarterfinals. MSU snapped the Ducks’ eight-game win streak with the victory, and the Spartans extended their win streak to eight games with the win.

Jase Richardson led the way for MSU with 17 points and three boards. Jaden Akins supplied 12 points and three rebounds as well for the Spartans. MSU shot 46% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc in the win.

It continued to be the Spartans’ strength in numbers, with MSU getting 27 points from its bench and four Spartans finishing in double-figures on the scoresheet.

Michigan State will next face the winner of Wisconsin and UCLA on Saturday at 1 p.m.
