OBA organises session for young entrepreneurs

Muscat: The Oman Banks Association (OBA) organised a session for the youth on June 7 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Technopark Innovation Center, Ghala, Muscat.

The objective of the event was to spread awareness to young entrepreneurs starting their businesses and invite bank members to help shed light on the financial aspects of starting a business. During the session, a successful young Omani entrepreneur shared his experience in starting up a business, the financial planning process, and the risks to avoid.

The session started with an introduction presented by Marah Al Lawati from OBA on the role of the Oman Banks Association in promoting the banking sector and economic development of the country. The event provided an opportunity for young Omani entrepreneurs and self-employed to interact one-on-one with successful business people, learn from bankers about financial and debt planning, as well as, a great networking opportunity among themselves for this young business community.

Marwa Murad Al Zadjali, Projects and Events Manager at the Oman Banks Association stated, “We are pleased with OBA to engage with the community and assist in guiding the youth to be productive and successful. This event is the first in the series of 'Let us hear from you…' that will cover different parts of the Sultanate focusing on young entrepreneurs and self-employed to plan and develop through a series of events that encourage sharing experiences and advice. OBA continues focusing on different segments of society, contributing towards sustainable social development as part of the Oman Vision 2040.”
