Professor Robert E. Hinson with Dr. Angela Ndunge – Associate Dean, Executive Education, Strathmore
The Coordinator of the MSc. International Business Degree Programme at the University of Ghana Business School, Professor Robert E. Hinson, has visited the prestigious Strathmore Business School in Kenya to build alliances to support the introduction of the programme at the University of Ghana Business School.
he International Business (IB) Programme is a one-year Master of Science Degree that covers Finance, Marketing and Human Resource topics on an international level as well contemporary business issues like Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics.
Students have the option to study Technology, Innovation, Intercultural management as well as Chinese, Spanish or French before completing the programme.
The programme is an international, career-boosting management programme, giving students advanced insights into the management of organizations in an ever-changing global business context.
The Strathmore Business School is ranked third in the Webometrics ranking of Business schools in Africa, and has taken a lead role to influence leadership in the public and private sectors on the Continent of Africa.
Given the premier nature of the Strathmore and UGBS Brand, it was deemed appropriate to embark on this international outreach to strengthen the collaborative capacity of these two leading business school brands on the continent of Africa.
Interacting with Dr. Hilda Mogire, Vice Dean, Academics and Student Affairs, Mukami Wanjobi – Partnerships Manager and Dr. Edward Mungai – Outgoing AABS Association Board Chair & Associate Dean, Doctoral Programmes, Professor Hinson shared the vision of the MSc. International Business Programme with the top brass of the Strathmore Business School.
The Senior Managers of the Strathmore Business School in turn expressed their willingness to collaborate with the UGBS not only at the level of the International Business Degree Programme alone, but in other areas like Development Finance, student exchanges, faculty exchanges; amongst others.
Professor Hinson also had extensive discussions with Dr. Angela Ndunge – Associate Dean, Executive Education, Strathmore Business School, on the possibility of developing joint executive development programmes.
The Strathmore Business School had an impressive suite of executive development programmes that were being marketed with excellent marketing communication collateral and so Professor Hinson spent some time trying to fully understand the segmentation, targeting and positioning strategies being deployed to promote executive education at the Strathmore Business School.
After the deliberations with the Associate Dean, Executive Education (who is also a human capital and organizational behaviour expert and lectures on the Strathmore MBA Programme), she presented Professor Hinson with a commemorative Strathmore Business School gift first to the UGBS MSc.
International Business School Coordinator and then another commemorative gift was given to Professor Hinson to delivered to the Dean of the University of Ghana Business School on his return to Ghana. Professor Hinson also gave two lectures in undergraduate classes as part of the visit to the Strathmore Business School; one on leadership and the other on marketing.
