Princess Rajwa of Jordan was glowing in her first picture since she announced she and Crown Prince Hussein are expecting their first baby.

Rajwa Al Saif, who married Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan, son of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania in a glitzy ceremony last summer, revealed she is pregnant last month. At the time, it was said the couple were due to welcome their first child in the summer of this year.

The couple marked Rajwa's 30th birthday over the weekend, with the Crown Prince sharing a photograph of his wife on his Instagram page from the celebration. He wrote, ‘I ask the Almighty to maintain the affection between us.. I wish you all the best every year, my life partner. May God continue to bless and nurture the bond between us. Happy Birthday Rajwa!’

In the snap, the gorgeous Rajwa could be seen beaming at the camera while Hussein stood behind her. The expectant mother opted for a stunning scarlet gown, which she paired with glittering gold earrings for the outing.

Hussein and Rajwa were married in a stunning ceremony last summer which was the biggest wedding of 2023. Big names from around the world travelled to Jordan for the royal spectacular, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the First Lady of the USA, Queen Sofia of Spain and the Sultan and Prince of Brunei.

Indeed the Prince of Brunei, Abdul Mateen, was perhaps getting inspiration for his own wedding, which was marked with a 10 day celebration. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were also in attendance, a pair who have been at the forefront of royal discussions this year, since Frederik’s mother Queen Margrethe’s shock abdication on New Year’s Eve. So, all the major players were out for the celebration in Jordan.

Since their wedding, the pair have remained very under-the-radar. In January, Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Princess Rajwa made a rare public appearance as they set off on an official visit to Singapore. The pair attended the launch of the Jordan-Singapore Tech Alliance Forum, an event organised by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Jordan’s embassy in Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation, and SH Tech. Prince Hussein was a major feature at the event, making a speech to outline how Jordan ‘aspires to be a rising force on the global tech scene.’

And last month, the Jordanian Royal Family released a statement about the couple's latest news. It read: ‘The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, are expecting, with God’s help and grace, their first child, in the summer of this year.

‘The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion, and wishes Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa good health and joy as they welcome their baby.’
